Add one more thing I am slack at, updating my blog! I have plenty of good reasons though! One is I finally got a new job! I am actually doing what I got my degree in and I am very happy. I work at a college and I like the faculty and students. It has taken me a while to get organized but I finally feel like I am where I am suppose to be as far as my career goes. The Master's bug has bit me again but I am holding off, I just really have too much to do to add one more thing.
We love our house. We spend alot of weekends working on the yard and painting. Bill did a fantastic job painting the living room and dining room. We keep our eyes out for decorations we would like and it is slowly getting there. We found a wonderful piece of artwork for the living room and it looks beautiful. My doll room needs to be painted and curtains hung but I am holding off until I get the furniture that I want.
My parent's celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a nice dinner/dance reception June 20th. My mom and I have been planning this party for a year and it turned out really nice. I was so excited that most of my cousins were able to attend and my Aunt Linda and Uncle Denny. We also had some good friends in attendance. I think the age range was 6 months old to 70 years olds. Everyone seemed to have had a great time and enjoyed themselves. I did not get to spend nearly enough time with everyone but that is the way it goes. Tony produced a fantastic through the years video for Mom and Dad and Pam did a scrapbook for them. Both of them turned out so nice and meant alot to my mom and dad.
Dad is undergoing radiation for his breast cancer. I think he has 2 more weeks to go. Mom lost her wedding rings and we were all so upset. It is rare that you see my mom without her wedding rings on. When I went to bed the night I found out she lost them, I said a prayer to the St. of lost items, could not remember which St. it was but I did pray. I called my mom the next day and she had found her engagement ring but the wedding ring was still missing. I told her to say a prayer to St. Anthony and I would say one too. Well, my mom called me later that day and told me her wedding ring was found and returned as well. Both rings were put away until she can go down and have them resized. Moral of the story---Don't underestimate the power of prayer!!!!
We added a new family member a couple of weeks ago but we have not made the official announcement yet. We found a female black pug and she is so cute! Her name is Emmaline but we call her "Emi" or "Hot Pocket". She runs around like a lunatic sometimes and her little body just gets so hot! Chewy plays with her but she knows who the boss is! I get dirty looks from Chewy if I even look Emi's way but I manage to snuggle with her every once in a while. She is a cutie that is for sure!!!!
The kids have been volunteering all summer at the Boys and Girls club and seem to enjoy it. I did not want them sitting home day after day watching TV and on the computer. It has been a good experience for both of them. School registration is August 2 already.
I still have no pictures to post. I did not take one picture the whole time everyone was here. I have my memories though!!!
